Video: “Lights Out” « Hot Air: "Charlie Chaplin once said all he needed to make comedy was a park, a policeman, and a pretty girl. All you need to make horror is a girl, some flickering lights, a creaky board or two — and, I guess, a decent make-up guy. Bake for two and a half minutes and you’re done. There’s nothing here that you haven’t seen before in “The Blair Witch Project” or “Paranormal Activity,” but the efficiency is admirable — to some people, I assume. Personally, as a devoted “Walking Dead” fan, I prefer 40-45 minutes of witless dialogue with my scares."
